“Don’t practice until you get it right. Practice until you can’t get it wrong.”

Our curriculum is broadly divided into four segments.

The Early Years

Age- 3 yrs – 5 yrs

Experience required: A desire to jump for joy!

“Tiny Ballerinas”: is a beautiful, developmentally appropriate beginner ballet program that teaches the basic concepts of classical ballet, movement, music appreciation, rhythm and poise. This program aims to build self-confidence and self-esteem in young children and actively fosters a love of dance at the most magical time in a little dancer’s life.
The program is based on the idea that children are naturally musical and rhythmic.
Children are absorbing the music and rhythms at all ages in their own way and the informal structure of the class accommodates each child at their individual level. Classes are held twice a week for 40 minutes.

This class strives to introduce important ballet basics as well as encourages imagination and creative movement. Our lessons include gentle introductions to ballet feet and arm positions, as well as centre and cross floor exercises. Our Tiny ballerinas learn about moving in a routine and working together as a group. We also have a focus on self-expression and interpretation as our little dancers use different props (such as wands, ribbons, etc to dramatise different styles of music.

Nothing is more marvellous than watching your own tiny ballerinas dance!

Pre-Ballet

Age – 5 yrs and above

Experience required: None.

This class is designed to develop ballet technique, as new steps are introduced to challenge and extend the knowledge and capabilities of our young dancers.
This class provides wonderful foundations for children above age 5 and has two classes per week for 60 minutes.

The Foundation Years

Experience required: Pre Ballet.

Ballet is for everybody. Students come in all shapes and sizes. ‘On Pointe’ Ballet School is a warm and accepting environment where we welcome all students striving to excel in the discipline and art of ballet…and having lots of fun doing it!
Students here begin the formal training of ballet, and progresses through a growing commitment, in learning to master all the elementary techniques with two classes per week of 60 minutes.

Advanced Full Time Training

This program is presently offered only at our ‘Gurukul’, based research centre and studio.

Dedicated and advanced students can expand their training commitment by taking five ballet technique classes per week along with ‘pointe’ work and learning classical ‘Bharatanatyam’ as well.

Adults

The joy of dance should not end when we become adults. ‘On Pointe’ Ballet School encourages adults to enrol in conditioning classes for adults combining basic ballet technique, barre work, yoga, and therapeutic stretching to give a balanced, fun, and inspiring work-out.
